HOW SESSIONS ARE BOOKED

  1. Registered students search through our network of tutors and select a tutor based on their location and personal preferences.
  2. Your available time slots will show based on your predetermined hours of availability. Once a session is booked, you will receive a notification requesting that you approve the appointment. This step enables you to optout of a session that you will be unable to attend. Once you approve the appointment, you will receive a second email confirming the appointment. *
  3. Notifications of pending appointments can be sent via email and/or text message, based on your preferences. To change your preferences, click on ‘My Account’ > ‘My Preferences’.
  4. Only one student can book a session at a given time slot.
  5. If a session is cancelled, the previous time slot will then become available.

BEFORE THE SESSION

  1. You will receive two appointment reminder messages, one occurring one day before your appointment and another one hour before your appointment, either by email and/or text message notification. *
  2. Prepare any materials which may be useful towards your tutoring session.
  3. Review any materials supplied by the student.

DURING THE SESSION

  1. Make sure a supervising adult is present in the household the entire time that you will be in the student’s home. (If there is no adult present, you should leave the premises and mark the attendance portion ‘Cancelled’. Please leave a note explaining the situation when the note is emailed to us. The client will be charged a fee and you will be compensated 50% of the session rate once payment is received.)
  2. Choose a quiet, clutter-free area with ample space and lighting to work in order to minimize distractions. This will help the student best focus and concentrate during the tutoring session.
  3. Briefly discuss any specific concerns or goals at the start and end of the session so that your learning experience can be most efficient and effective.

AFTER THE SESSION

  1. At the conclusion of the session, utilize the appointment notepad (see image below) to document attendance. Provide any notes regarding the session and include information about the next scheduled appointment on the lower portion of the note. Provide the lower portion of the note to the student.
  2. Submit the attendance (upper) portion of the note to Kinder Tutors by emailing a photo/scan to sessions@kindertutors.com, text to (321) 250- 3666, or fax to (888) 494-2006.
Note: Receipt of the attendance verification notes are needed in order to bill students and to issue payments to tutors for the session. Failure to submit in a timely fashion may delay your payment for the session.
  3. All students under age 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the attendance portion of the note.
  4. Do not accept payment directly for the session. You will receive payment from Kinder Tutors as per our payment schedule.
  5. Students complete a feedback form following each tutoring session. This helps to build your reputation and makes the Kinder Tutor network more effective.

Kinder Tutors virtual tutoring collaborative platform operates via a state-of-the-art interactive whiteboard, with voice and text communication and file sharing to optimize the online tutoring experience.

The secure learning portal allows students and tutors to meet remotely for tutoring sessions. The “virtual classrooms” come complete with effective tools for learning, including a responsive whiteboard and screen-sharing capabilities. Sessions are recorded for quality control purposes.
